Launceston Historical Society Inc. – Primary History Prize 2019

The Launceston Historical Society will once again be running their Primary History Prize for students.
Students in Years 3, 4 and 5/6 are invited to participate by submitting an entry.

ENTRY DETAILS ARE AVAILABLE FROM OUR WEBSITE
*   It is open for all students in Years 3 – 6.
*   Students submit (in a designated format) research on their open choice of historical topic.
*   Entries must be submitted by 30 August 2019

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS TO THE STUDENTS?
Apart from the winning entrants of each Year receiving book voucher prizes, which were presented at the Town Hall by Mayor Van Zetten in 2018, these young historians will learn by doing. This is a fabulous research and enquiry task for students.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS TO THE SCHOOL AND THE COMMUNITY?
Entries are later publicly displayed at the Launceston Library, Civic Square and this is a great way to involve the community and raise the profile of all participating schools and home educated students. An article on last year’s competition was published in the Examiner.

Should you have any particular queries, the Launceston Historical Society can be contacted via this email
We are looking forward to receiving some wonderful entries!
