‘How to Support Regulation’ – A talk by Alison Hopwood (Kids Occupational Therapy) – 16 October 2019

Alison Hopwood from Independent Kids Occupational Therapy is holding a talk for parents, carers, support workers, teachers or anyone else that might be supporting a child. The talk is on How to Support Regulation, the aim is for attendees to leave with an understanding of the foundation for regulation and triggers for dysregulation. You will also gain some practical strategies and knowledge of how to support a child.

At the moment Tasmania is experiencing a shortage of Paediatric Occupational Therapists with the majority of practices having closed their books. It is hoped that by presenting talks like this that we will be able to provide some strategies and information for parents in the short term to begin to support their children while they wait for a therapist to be available somewhere.

Independent Kids Occupational Therapy will be presenting another talk in November and on a monthly basis throughout 2020.  All information needed will be on the Independent Kids Occupational Therapy Facebook page and on Eventbrite. These sessions are available to anyone who may be interested.
